“I’m absolutely hating this book and I’m only 70% through. If I weren’t trying to hit my annual book goal - I would DNF. This author is definitely going on my do not read list as I can’t repeat this mistake again. This book feels like something from the 1950’s…nothing about it is 1980’s/90’s. I had to look up the author trying to understand how this happened but she is old enough to have been fully aware of the 80s. Also, why does this book not acknowledge that Julia is the biggest selfish AH. Deciding to have a baby without caring that your husband isn’t ready and you really need to have a job (especially since you think you are so smart)-not a baby. This is set in the 80s, when you graduate from college, getting a job was all the rage 🤨”

Ann Napolitano is the author of Dear Edward, which was an instant New York Times bestseller, a Read with Jenna selection, and is now an Apple TV+ series. She is also the author of the novels A Good Hard Look and Within Arm’s Reach. For seven years, Napolitano was the associate editor of the literary magazine One Story, and she received an MFA from New York University. She has taught fiction writing at Brooklyn College’s MFA program, New York University’s School of Continuing and Professional Studies, and Gotham Writers Workshop.
