Publisher Description

There is a price for cheating death…

Wren, Shrike, and Lark are three, very special siblings with one unusual calling. Raised by a father gifted with the ability to sense impending death, his visions allowed them to save people's lives. But they never imagined meddling with fate would have horrific consequences…

Now their beloved father is dead, murdered by one of the people they saved. And the Rose siblings have unearthed a terrifying secret: those who were meant to die have become hosts for demonic spirits from beyond. Ghostly apparitions who feed on misery and pain. And who delight in torturing their human victims…

Shocked by the devastation wrought by these sinister forces, the three vow to put an end to this evil reign once and for all. And to do it, they will have to kill every last victim they saved… every soul whose destiny they altered.

But repairing the damage done turns out to be far more difficult than they thought. And when an exorcism goes horribly wrong, the fallout sets a new enemy on their trail…

“I really wanted to like this story. I love Sara Clancy’s stories, but this one fell short. The book is only 187 pages so I get it’s going to move fast, but I felt the story was lacking. I was left with more questions than answers. How did their dad get mixed up in this? Why is this beat cop so interested in the siblings? How does he keep showing up where they are? Who is this demon and why is he targeting the siblings? The character development was lacking, I seriously thought they were teens! Nope, they are adults? They are so co-dependent it’s disturbing. Wren, is supposed to be the oldest, but his character doesn’t have that “take charge, I’m the oldest so listen to me” personality that is common with oldest siblings. No, that would be Shike, who also has massive anger management issues. And Lark, literally gives off a pre-teen, babied youngest sibling. It just didn’t make sense to me. The story bounces around from setting to setting without a real flow. The most nagging unanswered question was after experiencing the paranormal, this cop just lets them go and suddenly they are at transit station ready to blow it up. What? Why? This book just left me confused. Maybe these questions will be answered in the follow up books. I hope so at least.”
“Absolutely fantastic! I loved this book! It was hard to put down. Three siblings are trying to undo the "good" their father did over the course of his life. Now dealing with demons of different breeds, they are attempting to stop them from completely ruining the small towns they are inhabiting. But the Rose siblings are about to see just how strong they are without their father.”
