“What a fun little story, set between the two Disney Maleficent movies! Written by Holly Black (and this one of the main reasons I picked this up), it was a whimsical portrayal of Aurora’s growing pains as the new queen of the Moors and human lands that only the Queen of Fae literature could pull off. Between conflicting forces in her court that want to sway her/take her throne, tensions between the faeries and the humans that only she can mediate, and struggling with her own burgeoning feeling for her friend Phillip, the story is filled with just the right amount of setting, character building, and action to keep me engaged. I wish it was just a tad longer, as I was really enjoying it, but it certainly makes me want to watch the second movie, at long last!”Keegan 🖤✨🪻🫒📖
