"[A] wonderfully spooky supernatural rom-com."—People

Cassie thought Boneyard Key’s ghosts were tourist schtick, until her new home came with one—but can the attentions of the sexy coffee shop owner convince her to stay, instead of ghosting the town?

Small Florida coastal towns often find themselves scrambling for the tourism dollars that the Orlando theme parks leave behind. And within the town limits of Boneyard Key, the residents decided long ago to lean into its ghostliness. Nick Royer, owner of the Hallowed Grounds coffee shop, embraces the ghost tourism that keeps the local economy afloat, as well as his spectral roommate. At least he doesn’t have to run air-conditioning.

Cassie Rutherford possibly overreacted to all her friends getting married and having kids by leaving Orlando and buying a flipped historic cottage in Boneyard Key. Though there’s something unusual with her new home (her laptop won’t charge in any outlets, and the poetry magnets on her fridge definitely didn’t read “WRONG” and “MY HOUSE” when she put them up), she’s charmed by the colorful history surrounding her. And she's catching a certain vibe from the grumpy coffee shop owner whenever he slips her a free slice of banana bread along with her coffee order.

As Nick takes her on a ghost tour, sharing town gossip that tourists don't get to hear, and they spend nights side-by-side looking into the former owners of her haunted cottage, their connection solidifies into something very real and enticing. But Cassie's worried she’s in too deep with this whole (haunted) home ownership thing…and Nick's afraid to get too close in case Cassie gets scared away for good.

Haunted Ever After Reviews

“Book Besties, I walked into Haunted Ever After by Jen DeLuca with my arms wide open and a pumpkin spice latte in hand, ready to be spiritually seduced. Small town charm? Yes please. Romance? Feed me. Hauntings? Hand me a flashlight and let’s go. 👻✨ And yet… this one felt like standing in a haunted house line for three hours only to have one single skeleton pop out at the very end. ⭐️⭐️ 2 out of 5 stars The vibes were immaculate. Cozy streets, quirky townsfolk, romantic tension simmering like it forgot to turn the stove on. But this slow burn? It didn’t smolder. It gently preheated. For 300 pages. I kept waiting for the ghostly chaos, the swoony spark, the something to crackle. Instead, the story tiptoed around in sensible shoes until the final chapters finally decided to haunt. I adore a good simmer. I live for yearning glances and almost-touch moments. But I need at least one plate to rattle before the credits roll. The “ever after” arrived. The “haunted” part mostly RSVP’d at the last minute. That said, if you love a whisper-quiet romance with cozy ambiance and patience-testing pacing, this might be your spectral soulmate. As for me? I wanted a little more boo and a lot less… background hum. Honest reviews only in this haunted house. 🕯️📚”
“Let me start this review by saying, I LIVE FOR SPOOKY FLORIDA TOWNS! Haunted Ever After is the most cozy read that takes place in a Gulf Coast beach town called Boneyard Key, following the story of Cassie and Nick and their ghost roomies Mrs. H and Elmer. Like does it even get cuter than that! I devoured this book over a weekend, and I am very much looking forward to reading Ghost Businsss next!”
