“This was an amazing romantasy read! This book had my attention within the first chapter and held it throughout the entire story. I quickly found myself immersed in the world the author built and invested in its characters. I loved following Arden in this story and seeing how her relationship with Bishop developed. I thoroughly enjoyed this one and can’t wait to for the next book in this series after how this one ended.

I found myself flying through the pages desperate for answers while simultaneously trying to savor every moment because I wanted to simmer in this world for as long as I could.

📝 Here are my notes
🖤 I really loved the dialogue between Arden (FMC) and Bishop (MMC). Yes, there was banter. But their exchanges were mostly guarded and vulnerable and charged with tension.
They wanted to trust each other but there are just too many secrets.
🧐 Speaking of secrets, the history of Antares is full of secrets and mystery.
The 𝘮𝘺𝘴𝘵𝘦𝘳𝘺 𝘰𝘧 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘩𝘪𝘴𝘵𝘰𝘳𝘺. And it was addicting!
⚔️ Political intrigue is an underlying core element here.
There are 5 noble bloodlines with a leader from each that work together with the crown to maintain order in Antares. But of course, we’ve got greedy, power-hungry individuals who are scheming to gain control.
❗Oh, did I say 5 noble bloodlines?
Yeah, actually there’s 6… 😉
But that one vanquished 500 years ago.
😲 Until now………..
🐺 Pssssstt… There’s a wolf (pup). His name is H͎e͎r͎o͎, and I’m pretty confident he’s going to be a main character in book 2 🥰

🐦⬛ 𝙃𝙖𝙧𝙗𝙞𝙣𝙜𝙚𝙧, to me, felt super unique from other Romantasies I’ve read.
✨ In Antares, The Stars＝God. Their magic comes from The Stars. But it’s rarely used.
⚔️ There’s not a lot of ‘fight scenes’. It’s not super action-packed.
🌶️ It’s low spice. But GOOD spice.
😬 The tension isn’t mostly sexual. (oh, but it’s THERE)
💪 The FMC is neither a helpless ‘victim’ nor a super badass.
She’s a simple farm girl who knows the value of hard work. She trains with a sword for months so she can defend herself, but she doesn’t become an expert at sword wielding. She knows just enough to stay alive. Barely.
