“Ok just finished. First off I thought that the book was beautifully written, Cole really was able to capture his experiences and emotions in such a precise and vivid way and I very much appreciated that. I think the reflective nature of his writing also naturally prompts self reflection on the reader’s part. I think it presented the opportunity to consider the community in which I grew up, which is pretty similar to what Cole describes, but through a different lens.
