The narrative finally takes a catastrophic turn when Abel is forced to choose between his love for Rima and his duty to the outside world. A wonderfully written novel, "Green Mansions" skillfully weaves together literature about romance, adventure, and the environment. It has received accolades for its moving representations of the Venezuelan jungle and the way it shows how humans and nature interact.
