Publisher Description

How do you define yourself when others have already decided who you are?

Six years ago, when Camden Daniels came back from war without his younger brother, no one in the small town of Alba, Colorado, would forgive him—especially his father. He left, swearing never to return.

But a desperate message from his father brings it all back. The betrayal. The pain. And the need to go home again.

But home is where the one person he still loves is waiting. Willow. The one woman he can never have, because there are secrets buried in Alba that are best left in the dark...

Great and Precious Things is a heart-wrenching forbidden romance about family, betrayal, and ultimately how far we’re willing to go on behalf of those we love and who need us most.

“5+ Stars! Love. Love. Love. I haven't struggled to write a review in a long time but I have to admit, I struggled to write this one. The passion and love I feel for this story makes it difficult for me to put into words how much I loved it. I forced myself to take breaks while reading this so I could savor it as long as I could (something I never make myself do). I knew that if I devoured the story in one sitting, like I wanted to, I'd be kicking myself that it was over too quickly. Even after slowly savoring this story, I didn't want it to end. I am so in love with this world and these characters. Rebecca Yarros is hands down one of my favorite authors of all time. She writes her stories in such a way that you immediately feel immersed in the world with her descriptions of the setting and characters. I have loved everything she has written but this may be my favorite of hers to date. We all know I'm a sucker for friends-to-lovers romances and this one quickly became one of my all time favorites. A hot tattooed military hero, a dash of forbidden-ness, a strong female lead, a dreamy setting, and a slow burn romance was the perfect mix for this story. I will absolutely be re-reading this one soon! Please. Read. This. Book. Grateful to have received a complimentary ARC copy to honestly review.”
“Man this one got me right in the feels! I knew it was gonna be a good one, but I didn't realize it would consume me so completely. Cam came home from the Army to take care of his dad who was fighting Alzheimers. He knew things were going to be ugly but he didn't realize they were going to be this bad. First day back, his dad had a loaded shotgun pointed at the woman he loved, and Cam stepped between her and the gun. Willow had no idea Cam was coming back. She had been dating Cams brother, Sully, until he died a hero's death in Afghanistan. Now that Cam is back, all her feelings for him came back with him. But how can she dishonor Sully by being in love with Cam? It was like a Hallmark movie in book form. Happy, feel good parts followed by anger and betrayal. I absolutely loved every minute of it and couldn't put it down!”
“I am going to praise this book to high heavens. There are so many amazing pieces inside of the pages. I have highlighted (que gasps) and tabbed the mess out of this book because there are so many parts that I will be coming back to for days, maybe even years and I want to find them quickly. During the time it took me to get through all of the content, (which admittedly was not very long) I expressed much more emotion than I expected. I felt so much for the characters. I felt so much WITH the characters as if I was on the ride right there with them. I laughed in some parts. I swooned in some parts. And yes I will absolutely admit that I cried in a couple parts too. I’ll leave this rather short review with a couple quotes from the book: “You’re free time make your own choices, but you’re not free from the consequences of that choice.” And “You have to love your choices because you have the freedom to choose.””
