“4.25/5
I have to say, the works in this collection that leaned to the science fiction side of the spectrum were SUPERB. I *need* Evenson to write more science fiction. It's worth reading just for these entries. The pure horrors were of varying quality, most fun but often predictable.
There were some repetitive themes (mothers, memory), but overall a very solid set of short stories. All of the books I have read by Evenson have been very different, so picking up a new one is always an adventure. Recommended!
(And if anyone knows Brian Evenson personally, poke him for me and tell him to write more sci fi!)”
“It’s almost disturbing how I could easily see some of these stories take place in real life. “Servitude” and “Solution” did it for me. Human nature is such a fascinating concept…”
