“Pastor Bonhoeffer as I call him for that is indeed who he was. As someone who has come to love Pastor Bonhoeffer, I believe these Easter reflections are important and timely. In this season of lent I found myself brought closer to the crucifixion then ever before. I gurved truly as I began to realize the agony he endured on my behalf. These devotions bring us into that world and it becomes very emotional as one learns to draw closer to the crucified Christ. Yet it doesn't end there because by virtue of the cross, one also comes closer to the resurrection and leaves raised to a new life. Pastor Bonhoeffer lived this truth in his life. His faithful courage reminds us that there is always light in the darkness.
In conclusion I want to say I believe that this man's writing are more important than ever. They have a certain danger to them because they awaken a desire to stand for something in a world that falls for everything. For the Christian who wishes to engage with Pastor Bonhoeffer, of this I can only say that you will not leave the same person you were before. You will learn to find your own courageous faith.”
“What was in it was great, but they were such short passages. I was hoping for something deeper and more reflective. Would be better off reading one of his actual books.”
“A wonderful selection of Lenten reflections by Bonhoeffer, translated by O. C. Dean Jr. Having read Bonhoeffer's story, I was keen to read his writing. I found the reflections so meaningful and spiritual insightful to follow during Lent.”
