“Thoughtful devotionals. I especially love Luci Shaw's poetry and Bonhoeffer's writings from prison.”
“This book contains a collection of Bonhoeffer quotes, scripture, and devotions for Advent leading up until Epiphany. Each two-page entry begins with a short devotion, a quote by Bonhoeffer or another theologian, and a relevant verse of Scripture. Overall, it was a delight to read during the Christmas season because of the serenity in the writing style. This little book brought much joy and made me think about how I approached the celebration of Christ's birth and the coming of the new year. My only complaint would be that some of the quotes were not, in fact, from Bonhoeffer, though the majority came from either his Christmas letters to his fiancée or his Christmas sermons. This book certainly inspired me to read more from this brilliant pastor.”
