Publisher Description

#1 NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLER

"A haunting, beautiful, and necessary book."Nicola Yoon, #1 New York Times bestselling author of Everything, Everything

Charlotte Davis is in pieces. At seventeen she’s already lost more than most people do in a lifetime. But she’s learned how to forget. The broken glass washes away the sorrow until there is nothing but calm. You don’t have to think about your father and the river. Your best friend, who is gone forever. Or your mother, who has nothing left to give you.

Every new scar hardens Charlie’s heart just a little more, yet it still hurts so much. It hurts enough to not care anymore, which is sometimes what has to happen before you can find your way back from the edge.

A deeply moving portrait of a girl in a world that owes her nothing, and has taken so much, and the journey she undergoes to put herself back together. Kathleen Glasgow's debut is heartbreakingly real and unflinchingly honest. It’s a story you won’t be able to look away from.

And don’t miss Kathleen Glasgow's novels You’d Be Home Now and How to Make Friends with the Dark, both raw and powerful stories of life.

Loudly Crying Face“I had been putting off reading this book for a while, but I regret that wholeheartedly. This book, written similarly to Perks of Being a Wallflower, taught me so much about myself and the world around me.”

Loudly Crying Face“This book is so heartbreaking, yet it helped me think about where I am in life. You should read the trigger warnings before you read, but I have never related to a character more. I love Charlotte Davis.”

Loudly Crying Face“5/5 ☆'s This book is fucking angelic. A book never made me feel this way in my whole life. I fell in love with this book. It destroyed me. It showed me that you have to be with the person who's good for you. That you have to look up to the people who love you, not the ones who hate you behind their back. I love this; I love all of it.  These pages who destroyed me though.  The pages where we get told that Luisa set herself on fire, Blue is completely destroyed, and Riley & Wendy. The drugs, the alcohol, the car crash. Everything. It fucked up my brain. It fucked..everything. It destroyed my emotions. I had so big up and downs because of all that. I don't know what to do anymore. I will never really think again, "I'm so excited to continue girl in pieces." I would do everything to read this fucking angelic book again, without knowing what's gonna happen. "Dear Ellis, I have something really fucking angelic to tell you." The book she wanted to write is this fucking angelic book. "Girl in pieces" it's what it's called, it's her story. At least it's my theory.  I'm in love with something really fucking angelic.”
