“Getting Rid of Bradley is probably one of those books that will fill your days with laughter. And like most of Jennifer's books this ONE is going to amaze you. The book has all the elements to make you feel good... funny, sarcastic dialogues, amazing characters (that you wish existed in real life). I really liked it, no loved it!!! Though I still love Bet Me (maybe because Calvin is irreplaceable).
But I recommend it to everyone out there having a horrible day, cause this book would sure make you smile.
The story is about Lucy Savage who divorced Bradley Porter after finding him with a blondie in her kitchen. She wants to be independent instead of listening to Tina, her sister who happens to protect her like a mother, and Bradley who was a conservative and the only man in her life (Bradley was a moron!) Lucy was a simple science teacher who loved her dogs more than anything.
❝I married him because of the second law of thermodynamics?❞
Then came Zack Warren, a cop who happens to be a detective and happens to have issues for being thirty-six and not young enough to be called young (Finally a guy who hates getting old and accepts it!!!!) . Zack and his friend, Anthony Taylor is out looking for John Bradley to arrest for embezzlement.
❝You’re not dating?” Anthony frowned at him. “There are no women in your life?”
“I’m resting.” Zack leaned back in the booth and tapped his fingers on the cracked upholstery. “I’m
concentrating on my career.”
“Oh, good for you. So how long has it been since you... dated?”
“New Year ’s Eve.”
I Anthony shook his head. “That’s two months. That alone could make you depressed.”
“I’m not that depressed.” Zack’s tapping picked up speed. “Could we get off this please?”
“All right, you’re not ready for a wife. Start small. Get a dog.❞
After getting mugged by Lucy, Zack's instincts tells him that Lucy is in danger. Then there's gun shots and bombs and lots of instincts. So now there's Zack's instinct that tells him that both the Bradley are related and moves in with Lucy to protect her. But can he brush off the feelings for Lucy along with her green hair? Was his instincts right?
❝Now just listen for a minute. There are a lot of
good reasons why we should get married. For example, the dogs need a father.❞
A breakfast proposal - A blown up car and bombs in bed - Three dogs that later turned four - Two or maybe one Bradley- mix them all together and you can get rid of Bradley for sure...”
