“⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5. I haven’t read Garvey’s Choice, to which this is the sequel, but this can stand alone if need be. Garvey’s family navigates the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic: the initial shutdown, a family member who tests positive, and the racial injustices that plagued America in the spring of 2020. This is short but@powerful, and is told through short free verse poems. Hand to any middle school reader.”
