“For the Wolf is a Beauty and the Beast reimagining but I got more Little Red Riding Hood for the majority of the book.
Redarys aka Red is a royal second daughter and in Valleyda the second daughter is for the Wolf. She is a sacrifice to a magical forest to keep the monsters at bay and to hopefully release the lost Kings. On her 18th birthday she is brought to the Wilderwood and she enters with trepidation. During her time there, she realizes the Wolf is not what the stories say, and neither are the forest or Kings.
Neverah aka Neve is Red's older twin sister, saved by the bargain by mere minutes, and her POV is all about trying to find a way to save Red from the Wilderwood. Neve is guided by Kiri, a priestess, towards a possible solution. This solution, however, has darker intentions.
For the Wolf was a decent novel and kept me entertained. I will be reading the sequel because I need to know the rest of the story!”MegBey
