“I picked up this book at a book swap without reading the synopsis. The title and the “based on a true story” line immediately caught my attention.
It was really easy to read and fast-paced. I didn’t know much about the Nazi occupation before this, so it gave me at least a glimpse into that part of history.
Maybe it lacked a bit of detail but I think it’s great for someone who wants to learn the story quickly. It’s engaging, straightforward, and keeps you turning the pages.”

Kimberly Brubaker Bradley is the Newbery Honor and Schneider Award-winning author of several novels, including Ruthie's Gift, One-of-a-Kind Mallie, Weaver's Daughter, Halfway to the Sky, and For Freedom: The Story of a French Spy.
