First Moon (Four Moons #1)

By Richard Amos
First Moon (Four Moons #1) by Richard Amos digital book - Fable

Publisher Description

Hunter. Half-werewolf. One hell of a baker.

Need someone, or something, hunted down? Akira Murakami is your man! No target is too small for him to get his energy-sucking blades swinging, and all jobs are welcome at the right price.

The bills have to be paid after all.

Living in a world where the apocalypse almost happened can be complicated, as is being the hybrid son of the High Werewolf of, well, everything. But Akira likes to live a relatively simpler life than dear old papa would like, shunning all the political crap, living by the sword and perfecting that recipe for dark chocolate and raspberry brownies.

Killing is easy.

Brownies are easy.

Too easy.

To hell with the simple life!

There’s a werewolf killer stalking the city, and Akira is about to be caught in the middle of everything.

Step into an alternative London where the London Underground is above your head, Hyde Park a prison for some creepy shadow creatures, and plenty of baking goes down in a tiny flat on Grays Inn Road.

A kick-ass Urban Fantasy adventure with a slow-burn MM Romance.

“This book was messy, but somehow still hooked me enough to keep going in the series? Akria as the protagonist acted like an actual child for the entire first book, despite him being in his, I assume, mid 20s. He is essentially a dick for no reason with no character development throughout the first books. The way he talks is also a bit much (do british people actually use the word ‘bruv’ THAT much??) and it annoyed me to the point where it was difficult to focus on the plot sometimes. When they say slow burn, they mean SLOW. There’s essentially no romance in the first book, mostly just back and forth if Akria being a dick and Gabriel, the love interest, trying to set boundaries and then giving up. I assume future books will have more of the relationship arc, but be aware that this first book is essentially just an urban fantasy book. Lastly, as i mentioned in the first sentence of my review, this book is messy. The murders were brought up only occasionally for very brief plot points and then forgotten until 3/4 of the way through the story. The author was trying to give us a lot of information and the plot got lost in that. Despite all of these things, I’m still moving on to the second one to see what happens.”
