Jamie hasn't left the island in a long time. She isn't happy about the stuff that still needs to be done at the school in order for it to be done by the reunion in six weeks. Maureen tells her that they should just cancel the reunion, Jamie doesn't want to. She then finds out that the contractor that she had hired left and isn't going to come back to finish it. Her father Mason thinks that the school building should just be torn down and a park put in its place. Emmett is back on the island after 10 years, when he hears Jamie's voice in the Diner he couldn't help but volunteer his services to help with the school. Emmett has no idea why he offered up his services to fix the school.
Jamie has her demons from 10 years ago, she works at the Gulliver Winery, planning the annual class reunion was dropped in her lap, she loves living on the island. Her parents are very protective of her. Emmett came back to the island after 10 years, to clean up and sell his dads house and to move him to Cincinnati to be closer to Emmett. He has his own television show. He owns Deal Construction. Maureen is married to Clancy, has two children, Jamie's best friend. She is very protective of Jamie. Clancy is Emmett's friend, married to Maureen. Gibson is Emmett's father and he has dementia. He has some episodes. He wants the house the same colors as his wife had it before she passed away. Mason is the Chief of Police, Jamie's father, blames Emmett for what happened to Jamie. He is very protective of Jamie.
This is my first book by Kristina Knight and I can honestly say that it will not be my last. This book is very well written and the characters were very well developed. I couldn't help but feel very connected to the characters.”
