“I cannot recall a time in my life when I wasn't in love with the story of The Nutcracker. It is so exceedingly charming and gives me cozy Christmas feelings. The narrator was fantastic! This is a wonderful story for children and adults. The only thing I would say, is with this particular story I still would enjoy physically reading it myself. That is just my preference but has nothing to do with any criticism of the narrator or the story.
Thank you to NetGalley and Dreamscape Media for this advanced audiobook. All opinions and thoughts are my own.”
About E. T. A. Hoffmann
Ernst Theodor Amadeus Hoffmann (commonly abbreviated as E. T. A. Hoffmann) (1776-1822) was a Prussian Romantic author of fantasy and Gothic horror, a jurist, composer, music critic, draftsman and caricaturist. His stories form the basis of Jacques Offenbach's famous opera The Tales of Hoffmann, in which Hoffmann appears (heavily fictionalized) as the hero. He is also the author of the novella The Nutcracker and the Mouse King, on which Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky's ballet The Nutcracker is based.
