Find My Way Down to You Reviews

4.5
“I got an ARC copy awhile back but just got around to finishing it. Also this releases in August. I actually enjoyed it overall I just wished it wasn’t YA 🫡 3.75 but I’ll round up to a 4 because I’m an 👼🏻 🤪”
“Wow I loved this so much. I was drawn in by the cover and not disappointed. I adore a book where characters have to face Death or make deals with beings greater than themselves. And August gave me everything I could want. It’s a beautiful depiction of how August deals with grief and loneliness and longing. I loved how we got chapters from before and after. And I absolutely loved Cary. There is spice. So certainly aimed at a higher level YA, but it’s not terribly graphic by any means. I thought it was actually really lovely and done in a very soft, romantic way. The ending?? Oufff. As I was nearing the end I was like ‘wow good for me for not crying’ NOT. That epilogue got me. Got me good. Thank you thank you thank you to Penguin Teen and Julian Winters for this ARC. This one’s gonna stick with me.”
“4.75 enthusiastic stars for this one. Grief is a part of life, and nobody feels it more than August Clarke. Cloaked in tragedy at 16 years old, he loses what he believes is the love of his life and blames himself. London planned everything for his, and August’s, lives and at the time August thought that was what love was. Until time passes and he somehow finds himself intertwined with Cary, a member of the Deathless who helps ferry souls from earth to the underworld Aides. This story was so complex, full of half truths, lies by omission and LOVE. This book had so many layers to it, it was hard to anticipate every spoiler ahead which is what I love in a book. The love that August finds with Cary puts into perspective the love he had with London in his earlier years. The travel between the underworld and August’s real life was so fascinating and I just knew I would love this book from the beginning. So unique, and of course MM which I love wildly. Read this book!”
“ARC from NetGalley This was quite a touching narrative about loss, grief and guilt. Many moments where I felt August’s sadness as he tried to navigate through life “After London.” It felt relatable and honest, even if it was modernized Greek mythology. It was an interesting way that Winters explored his main themes. While Cary was guarded, I still enjoyed the dynamic between him and August. Seeing the shift was quite pleasing. The ending was quite satisfying. A little predictable but the epilogue did have a nice surprise to it. I look forward to adding this to my bookshelf when it is published.”
