Feral: it takes a Forest to Raise a Child

We've all read stories and novels about feral children. Children raised in the wilds by lions, tigers, bears, apes, and whatever beast mama was wandering about looking for a child. The stories have always had a place on our bookshelves. Plutarch wrote about Romulus and Remus about two thousand years ago. Rudyard Kipling's Jungle Book was written in the 1800s. Tarzan, the jungle lord, is an important part of our culture.  Feral children hold a special fascination for those of us raised in civilized surroundings.
