Publisher Description

She's a single mom with a disabled son. He's been in love with her since high school. Will this shy cowboy finally win her heart?

Dylan Vargas is too shy for his own good. While he and his best friend Adan work with the horses on his family's ranch near Wickenburg, Arizona, Adan signs him up for an online dating service. Dylan begrudgingly looks through the profiles. One face stands out above the others—that of his childhood crush. There's only one impossible problem—she is Adan's little sister.

Brisa Franco moves home to Wickenburg after a tragic car accident left her four-year-old son disabled. As she starts a new job in her hometown, she never expects to help her brother's best friend in his quest to overcome a speech impediment.

Will Dylan steal her heart as she helps him learn how to release his anxiety? Will Brisa learn to trust him and let go of her deeply engrained fears from her past relationship?

“"Falling for a Shy Cowboy" by Karen Baney is a story that gently tugs at the heart with its sweet romance wrapped in Christian faith and the vulnerability of real-life struggles. Dylan Vargas, the epitome of a quiet cowboy, had me rooting for him from the start. His shyness, particularly around women, is endearing, but it’s his strong faith that truly sets him apart. Dylan’s been harboring a love for Brisa since high school, and seeing him wrestle with both his feelings and his speech impediment adds a raw, authentic layer to his character. Brisa’s story is just as touching. As a single mom raising a disabled son, her journey back to Wickenburg brings with it a mix of pain and hope. The way she leans into her faith, even as she struggles to forgive herself, resonates so deeply. I loved how Baney captures her quiet moments with God, especially when she asks for guidance in following Jesus in all things. It felt so genuine. Watching Dylan and Brisa’s relationship develop had me smiling. Their sweet love story is about healing, learning to trust again, and leaning into God's plan even when it's hard to see. Dylan’s struggle to express himself verbally made me appreciate the unspoken strength of his character. Actions really do speak louder than words, and his kindness and care for Brisa’s son, Braden, just melted my heart. The Christian themes flow naturally through the story, never feeling forced or contrived. One of the moments that touched me most was when Dylan finds solace in the Psalms, choosing to place his hope in God despite knowing that his stutter likely won’t miraculously disappear. His quiet, steadfast faith is a powerful reminder of what it truly means to trust in God’s plan, even when life doesn’t unfold as we expect or desire This wonderful story is a testimony of faith, grace, and the beauty of God’s timing. If you're looking for a heartwarming read that reflects the Christian walk, "Falling for a Shy Cowboy" is one I highly recommend. This shy cowboy and the strong single mom will stay with me for a long time. I received a digital version of Falling for a Shy Cowboy via the author and Celebrate Lit Publicity Group.
