“I won this book in a contest and it has sat on my shelf for a year or so. But as I'm trying to read the books I own, I picked up this book as part of a reading challenge.
I've made it clear over the years in my reviews that I'm not the biggest fan of the secret baby trope and that's what we get with Expecting His Holiday Surprise. Now, it wasn't a bad book, but it also wasn't great. The secret baby aspect wasn't as bad as I was expecting seeing as Jade is pregnant through the story and Trent's disbelief is totally understandable. But I had a hard time connecting with the characters, Trent in particular. He was just all over the place and I could see how Jade was totally getting mixed signals from him. It made it hard for me to root for their happily ever after when he was such a mess.
I read this book in a day and it was a pretty easy read. I liked Jo McNally's writing style, but it just wasn't my cup of tea/.”
