Ever After Always
By Chloe LiesePublisher Description
A marriage-in-crisis rekindles its passion in this second chance romance about going the distance to make love last.
Freya Bergman has spent a dozen years loving Aiden and never thought they’d find their marriage on the rocks. He’s her partner and best friend, the person she knows she can count on most. Until one day Freya realizes the man she married is nowhere to be found. Now Aiden is quiet and withdrawn, and as the months wear on, the growing distance between them becomes too much to bear.
Aiden would spend a dozen lifetimes making his wife happy. But the one thing that will make her happiest is the one thing he’s not sure he can give her: a baby. With the pressure of providing and planning for a family, his anxiety is at an all-time high. They’re drifting apart and he doesn’t know how to change the tide.
As if weathering marriage counseling wasn’t enough, Freya and Aiden are thrown together for a Bergman family island getaway. Will this trip help them finally work through their trouble in paradise, or be the final wave that tows them under?

“While this book wasn't as good as the first 2 books in the series is was still a powerful and emotional story about how marriage is often the end of a story but in reality it's the beginning of a long journey about learning to love each other through all of what life throws at us.
Aiden in the first 2 books was a snarky matchmaker but in this book we get to see how his upbringing in poverty and anxiety has driven him away from the love of his life and when she kicks him to the curb over it he has to face his issues and learn to break down his walls and let her in. And conversely, Freya has to learn to listen and understand that Aiden isn't perfect. She has to put her resentment aside and learn to heal herself so she can forgive him.
So why isn't this a 5 star read? Mostly because the miscommunication in this book was very prominent in the beginning (understandably so) and then came back not once but TWICE after they resolved their issues. It gave me trust issues lol.
Anyone who's married and past the honeymoon phase will relate to one of the MCs in this book (or maybe both). It was refreshing to see things that are real marital stressors be represented in a book. Financial trauma, emotional distress, apathy for your partner and fear of honest conversations about tough subjects with your partner because of inadequacy.
I loved how this ended up. I love the found family Aiden gets to feel with the Bergmans and I love that even when Freya and Aiden were on the rocks the family still rallied behind BOTH of them and didn't take sides.”

“so I really enjoyed this one. I related a lot to the mmc struggles with anxiety. I also really connected with their relationship struggles. after 15 years and a kid together, my partner and I have also had our rough moments and I felt the author portrayed it so accurately and honestly.”
