Escape Pod Reviews

“Stars: 5 out of 5 What a wonderful anthology this is! I mean you could have guessed that it would be good just by looking at the names of the participating authors, but this exceeded my expectations.  There wasn't a single short story I didn't like. Some I loved more than others, but all were well constructed and engaging, which can be difficult with short stories. Too often I see short stories that fail to tell a compelling story from start to finish. Some fumble the middle or the delivery, some fumble the ending. Some just feel like the author didn't put enough effort into the story because it wasn't novel-length. I'm glad to say that it's not the case here. All of the stories in this anthology are truly excellent. If I had to pick a favorite, I would say that the story about the xenobiologist negotiator dealing with Irish fae on a space station would be number one for me. Just for the novelty and outlandishness of the idea. I also really liked the very last one about dragons. And I'm not giving out any more spoilers.  My advise is - get this book and read it. You can read it in one go or use it as a palate cleanser between longer books, but you definitely need to read it. PS: I received a copy of this book from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.”
