Entities to Lovers Reviews

“This book was really charming and delightful. I wasn't sure what to expect going into it since it's not a type of premise I read that often, but it was so fun and full of heart and emotion. I loved both of the main characters and the dynamic between them we're introduced to. And everything about their dynamic just worked. How they play off each other, how they both have wounds and insecurities. And the curse? It was so so fun to read how it played out! The forced proximity that led to their progression was lovely. There was also one trope in here, one that I won't mention for it being a spoiler, that is not something I typically like, but the way it was executed in this story made sense and I enjoyed it. I also loved the push and pull and how facing their fears and worries together was a theme in the book. There were parts of the book, especially near the end, that did drag a bit for me, but the emotional resolution was so good. Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for the ARC in exchange for a review!”
“This was a cute and charming rom-com with ghosts, alter egos, and a curse. I liked this book and it worked nicely as a sort of palate cleanser book for me. Rory and Ezra are flawed and lovable in their own ways and I think the author did a great job trying to make a certain type of reader feel seen, and I loved that. I loved the historical enthusiasm and the glimpses into tarot and spirit reading. I would read a whole book just on Rory meeting ghosts, that was such fun. I did feel like there was a good amount of info-dumping or explaining, rather than having faith in the reader to connect dots. This dragged the pacing a bit. And, I didn’t think all of the body descriptions were necessary or flattering, so it took me out of it a bit. -workplace rivals to lovers -she is a psychic (reads tarot and communicates with ghosts) -they’re cursed -alter ego ghost tour hosts -one room -forced proximity The relationship was sweet and the book was solid. I’d definitely recommend for a cozy spooky-adjacent romcom. Thank you to NetGalley for the ARC, all opinions are my own!”
“Review of advanced copy received from NetGalley. Rory Woods is a medium who also does ghost tours for her mom’s spirit shop. Ezra Blackwell is an adjunct history professor who helps with the ghost tours. They get stuck together for a tour and end up cursed by a matchmaking ghost, where unless they are near each other bad things happen. They try everything to break the curse until they realize growing closer isn’t the curse they thought it was. This book is definitely meant to be read during the spooky season. I loved Rory and Ezra’s banter. I highly recommend reading this if you want a cozy paranormal romance to read during the spooky season. I am very much thinking of going and reading Mallory Marlowe’s other works. Thank you to Berkeley Publishing Group for this arc copy.”
