“José Balza sends you on a journey to discover many Venezuelan, Spanish, and Latam artists. His essays are well written, and some of them inspiring. He has fascinating observations around Ramos Sucre's nonuse of pronouns and a solid interpretation of Gustavo Pereira's poetry.
"La poesía aquí significa un cuerpo (creado por los besos, por la voz) y aunque se quiera poseerlo, puede desharcerse entre las manos".
My problem with this book is that some essays seem flawed, unfinished, and lack research. I guess that's why the book is called "Raw essays." Not the best to start reading Balza. But good writing overall.”
