Drink, Slay, Love

Publisher Description

Vampire romance takes a snarky turn in this humorous novel, coming soon to TV screens as a Lifetime Original Movie!

Pearl is a sixteen-year-old vampire…fond of blood, allergic to sunlight, and mostly evil…until the night a sparkly unicorn stabs her through the heart with his horn. Oops.
Her family thinks she was attacked by a vampire hunter (because, obviously, unicorns don’t exist), and they’re shocked she survived. They’re even more shocked when Pearl discovers she can now withstand the sun. But they quickly find a way to make use of her new talent. The Vampire King of New England has chosen Pearl’s family to host his feast. If Pearl enrolls in high school, she can make lots of human friends and lure them to the King’s feast—as the entrées.
The only problem? Pearl’s starting to feel the twinges of a conscience. How can she serve up her new friends—especially the cute guy who makes her fangs ache—to be slaughtered? Then again, she’s definitely dead if she lets down her family. What’s a sunlight-loving vamp to do?

Rolling on the Floor Laughing Face“It was a fun fast read. Liked it a lot more than I thought I would. Not your typical vampire story and I love to see the change and growth in Pearl. Loved how there was a unicorn definitely an unexpected twist.”
Rolling on the Floor Laughing Face“I love all of Sarah Beth Durst’s books, I was avoiding this one because I knew it was her most famous. My other favorite author during my adolescence was LJ Smith, I loved all of her books, especially Night World. I did not like Vampire Diaries at all though, and it made me stop reading her books as often. I avoided this book because I was worried it would be the same situation. However, this was not the case. This DID remind me of LJ Smith’s writing, especially from Night World, but it was very funny and easy to read. I didn’t want the book to ever end. Another thing I love about Sarah Beth Durst’s writing is that they are all standalone books, pretty short and have wonderful endings, but this is one I would have enjoyed as a series.”
