“3.5 An interesting and unique blend of different fairy tales. I enjoyed the mix of real world and magical world. The story was fast-paced and full of adventure with a dash of romance. If you like tropes like mates, dragons, magic, fish out of water and found family you’ll love this!”

“Dragunzel, Dragons of Ellehcor, Book 2 by Rochelle K. Bradley is a retelling of the fairy tale Rapunzel, full of fantasy, romance, dragons, portals, and magic. Many plot twists tell the story of Casey, a young adult, who falls into the mysterious world of Ellehcor and her adventures there. I enjoyed the author’s imaginative storyline in creating a world reminiscent of times past while meeting present time. The storyline is told in first person by the character, Jett, but really follows the character of Casey the majority of the time. Unlike Jett, Casey and the other characters are beautifully developed and relatable through third person. There’s plenty of action, plot twists, and nail-biting moments. Due to the excitement of the story, along with Bradley’s likable characters, I couldn’t put the book down. I found the beginning of the novel somewhat confusing as I had not read the first book in the series. After reading the prologue and first chapter I was able to get into the book, but more introduction for the new reader would have helped. However, once I was into the action and fantastic story line, this book was a page turner! The plot twists, action and story lines are exciting, but at times merit more details and completion. Some questions remain unanswered and leave the reader wondering. Perhaps these will be answered in upcoming books, but for now it could be unsatisfying for some readers. I rate Dragunzel, Dragons of Ellehcor, Book 2, 5 out of 5 stars. I enjoyed the fantasy plot line and the general sense of magic included throughout. I loved the development of Casey’s character as it was unique, and I found her more likable in every aspect of her adventure. The author displays her imagination with the setting and relationship development among Casey and the people she encounters. I think Bradley is an excellent writer for this genre. I recommend this novel to readers interested in fairy tales, romance, and fantasy genres, specifically to those who enjoy magic throughout the story. There was some nudity and sexual content within the plot. It is mainly around the discussion of naked bodies after “shifting bodies,” kissing and thoughts of naked bodies. Therefore, I would caution young readers. Although there are no factual historical references, readers who enjoy historical fiction may enjoy the book for its use of castles, dragons, settings of old-world living and medieval wars. Overall, the book is appropriate for a range of ages and a variety of readers. I can’t wait to see if the author comes out with more books in The Dragons of Ellehcor Series.”

Rochelle Bradley

Rochelle writes epic dreams. In her mind, they play like a movie with a cast of fun-loving, big-hearted people in a small-town setting.

Born and raised in Cincinnati, Ohio, Rochelle developed a love of nature, art and traveling. Snowbird grandparents first introduced her to Texas when she was a child. Her fondness for the state grew over the years. In college, she flip-flopped between interior decorating and creative writing. Alas, she chose decorating. She worked as a certified professional bra fitter through college and accumulated many interesting stories and a box full of goodies for her soon-to-be Prince.

She made the long migration to Dayton, Ohio after marrying. Taking an early retirement as a decorator, she accepted the full-time position of mother.

In 2008, when her youngest entered Kindergarten, she decided to get the stories out of her head. Midway through her first novel, hurricane Ike (yes, a hurricane in Ohio) rendered the laptop useless with a nine-day power outage. She didn't give up, but continued to pursue her dream.

Rochelle shares her home with one cat, two high schoolers, three lizards, and her Prince.
