“I’m a little disappointed in this book. I like the author as a person and teacher (she taught at the community college I attended) but I found myself not really connected to this book.
The current novella I’m writing is (very loosely) inspired by the same case study that this book is inspired by.
I found none of the characters in this book to be likable or believable. And for some reason I couldn’t get myself to suspend my disbelief. The world didn’t feel speculative enough for me to give allowance to the antics that showed up.
I will probably give some of her other books a try. This one just might have not been for me.”
