“This was pretty much what I expected it to be - an annoying, bratty teen FMC and a predictablestoryline. I went into it knowing I was reading a YA thriller, so I knew it wouldn't be like the thrillers I'm used to. R.L. Stine was my intro to horror, so his novels will always get a pass from me LOL”

“Imagine sneaking out one night, only for your parents to come pick you up. You forget your phone at the restaurant, and when your dad turns the car around to get it, he crashes and dies. After that, you start seeing things that aren’t there including your deceased father. Your boyfriend’s acting sketchy, but you land a babysitting job for a sweet boy named Harry, who needs exactly eight hours of sleep because of a medical condition. You keep seeing things and your therapist doesn’t believe you, the cops don’t believe you, and neither does your mom. And in the end, it all circles back. You keep seeing things, and somehow, it’s all your fault or is it?”

“i’m not usually a fan of horror (highkey, never a fan), but somehow I’ve always loved R.L. Stine’s books.. this book hit that sweet spot of creepy-but-fun that kept me turning the pages
the babysitting setup, the weird basement, and all the little jumpy moments gave me just enough chills without making me actually terrified.. while some parts were predictable, and I had a few “why is she doing that??” moments, but honestly, that’s part of the charm.
It felt nostalgic, like revisiting the books I grew up reading (literally is..)”
