Dividing Eden by Joelle Charbonneau digital book - Fable

Publisher Description

From the author of the New York Times bestselling The Testing trilogy comes a sweeping new fantasy series, perfect for fans of Victoria Aveyard and Sarah J. Maas.

Twins Carys and Andreus were never destined to rule Eden. With their older brother next in line to inherit the throne, the future of the kingdom was secure.

But appearances—and rivals—can be deceiving. When Eden’s king and crown prince are killed by assassins, Eden desperately needs a monarch, but the line of succession is no longer clear. With a ruling council scheming to gain power, Carys and Andreus are faced with only one option—to take part in a Trial of Succession that will determine which one of them is worthy of ruling the kingdom.

As sister and brother, Carys and Andreus have always kept each other safe—from their secrets, from the court, and from the monsters lurking in the mountains beyond the kingdom’s wall. But the Trial of Succession will test the bonds of trust and family.

With their country and their hearts divided, Carys and Andreus will discover exactly what each will do to win the crown. How long before suspicion takes hold and the thirst for power leads to the ultimate betrayal?

  • Trial for the Throne: Carys and Andreus must enter a deadly Trial of Succession, a brutal contest designed to choose Eden’s next ruler—or kill the unworthy.
  • Forced Rivalry: Once inseparable allies who protected each other’s secrets, the twins are now pitted against one another in a fight for the crown where only one can win.
  • Political Intrigue: While the siblings compete, a scheming ruling council makes its own play for power, threatening the future of Eden itself.
  • Royals with Secrets: Both twins harbor dangerous secrets—a hidden weakness and a hidden skill—that could be the key to victory or the cause of their downfall.

Dividing Eden Reviews

3.5
“I really didn’t expect that ending!!!! One of my favorite tropes is found family so it really broke my heart that Andreus and Carys ended up fighting and the fact that Andreus hated Carys for the lies that Imogen told really pissed me off but the book was still really good. I loved how in the beginning parts, you didn’t know which twin was being lied to and which one was being told the truth, it made everyone suspicious and honestly I’m still not completely trusting of Errik or Garrett. I also really wanna know what’s going on with Carys and her wind powers?! I think that is so cool and she’s actually meant to be a seer, but if so why in the world would her mother hide it from her?!?! Andreus better be begging on his KNEES for forgiveness after Carys saves his ungrateful butt.”
