“Overall score: 4.4/5 A page turner does not really describe how difficult this book was to put down. Yes, the technology referenced is dated but for me I found this as strength given it’s nostalgic feel and ambience to a time I was little kid during, naive to the pace at which technology was advancing and to the dreams so many people of the time had for what this technology would bring. From a 2024 perspective, it certainly alluded to the difficulties in preserving both a sense of privacy and security with information and how it can be used in your favor and against. So while some reviews knock it for the dated tech, I see it as a wonderful way to self reflect on our current times. Anyways, Crichton does what Crichton does, he weaves a highly technical story with great character work and never walks you right to the answers, giving just enough to help you piece it together. Absolutely loved this book!”
