“The first in a series of novels featuring a French detective during the Nazi occupation of Paris. It is less about the murder being investigated and much more about the story of Henri Lefort, the detective, and creating an interesting character. The author involves two real people in the story, Princess Marie Bonaparte, who really was a psychoanalyst and friend of Freud, and Pablo Picasso.”
“I enjoyed this book a lot more than I thought i would. I think it was a right time, right place book. I liked the ww1 flashbacks. I did guess who the killer was quickly and guessed the plot twists, but that didnt distract from the book. It was entertaining. I enjoyed the characters”
