Publisher Description

He just might take being a bad boy a little too far.

Eloise Mason keeps everything arranged to her exacting standards. A stable job, a

non-existent dating life, and a perfectly maintained home in just the right neighborhood. Nothing unexpected ever happens and that's how she likes it.

Ethan Callaghan moves in next door and destroys her vision. Late-night parties,

roaring motorcycle engines, and charming smiles were nowhere on her schedule, and she isn't in a hurry to forgive him when he causes a scene in front of the neighbors.

In fact she hates him until his persistent interest begins to win her over, but when

someone close to her is murdered, it becomes apparent that her softening heart is more of a threat than she realized. As the stakes rise and the killer closes in, Eloise will have to decide if trusting Ethan will save her life or be a death sentence.

“I think this was my first romantic suspense, and I might have to find more of them! Eloise is a very reserved woman, with a pretty simple life. She works, she avoids talking to her mom, she hangs out with her friends on designated days. Until Ethan moves in next door. He’s covered in tattoos and rides a motorcycle. His friends crush Eloise’s flowers and their music keeps her up late (which is a cardinal sin IMO). He’s irritating…until he isn’t. When he’s injured and needs help, Eloise agrees to help him. From there, they get closer, a friendship and then more evolving. When Eloise’s finds her friend murdered outside their workplace, Ethan decides the best choice is to move in to keep her safe. Can Eloise find out what happened before it’s too late? Death Sentence had me racing in the final 25% because I was pretty sure I knew what happened, but I didn’t know how it went down!”
“DEATH SENTENCE is a tempered dark romance spiced with true crime procedural drama story arcs. I loved Eloise as the main character. Her curated, neat & orderly lifestyle was so strict, that it was a relief to see it disrupted by a hot new neighbor that she had absolutely no influence over. It was this tension between her and Ethan, between her and anything beyond her control really, that made this story so compelling. If you like your love Interest morally grey, let me introduce you to Ethan. His chosen family is entrenched in a lifestyle of schemes and crime. It's all Ethan has ever known, and a personal sense of debt keeps him loyal even if it could get him killed. I can also only claim I got half of my "whodunnit" theory right by the time all was revealed. There are some tricky threads woven in that kept the ending a surprise. Overall, I absolutely recommend this book if you're looking for a story that has some risk along with the romance reward.”
