Death Prefers Blondes by Caleb Roehrig digital book - Fable

Publisher Description

Teenage socialite Margo Manning leads a dangerous double life. By day, she dodges the paparazzi while soaking up California sunshine. By night, however, she dodges security cameras and armed guards, pulling off high-stakes cat burglaries with a team of flamboyant young men. In and out of disguise, she’s in all the headlines.

But then Margo’s personal life takes a sudden, dark turn, and a job to end all jobs lands her crew in deadly peril. Overnight, everything she’s ever counted on is put at risk. Backs against the wall, the resourceful thieves must draw on their special skills to survive. But can one rebel heiress and four kickboxing drag queens withstand the slings and arrows of truly outrageous fortune? Or will a mounting sea of troubles end them—for good?

“Made it in 100 pages and that even took me a week to get that far. I’m just so bored I’m not caring about the characters or their stories. All the kids are in high school they dress and drag and they rob but they’re all rich I just find it boring and there’s too many books to read to force yourself to read a book. Unfortunately, this one was not for me.”
“This was fun at times and I could see how some people would love it, but ultimately I think I Just didn't see the vision”
“Not exactly what I expected, but not in a bad way. I’m not sure why this is considered to be YA. Other than that the lead characters are teenagers, but is that the only criteria? I don’t know many teens who will be interested in stories revolving around art theft, corporate intrigue, arms dealers, and a civil war in Malawi, but if they are, then they are cooler than the teenagers I hang out with. The reason it’s important is that I think wrong expectations can sour a person on a book, so please understand what you are getting into when you read this. The characters are cool and multifaceted. They have believable enough reasons for why they all have master thief level skills, but also deal with teenage stress as well. Maybe that’s why teenagers will like it? Beneath the surface level of whiny, spoiled teens, all of these characters have hidden depths. I like that.”
