“Not going to lie, I was skeptical when I picked this up. My experience with historical fiction thrillers isn't that great but the setting narrations of both places in this book was impressive. I appreciate the effort. It did make me feel like I was there during that time, which is not easily seen in books nowadays. Coming to the finale or the final whodunnit, I could easily guess who but I was pleased upon learning how they did it, which clearly seemed more important. But yes, there was a recurring philosophy and moral dilemma sub plot of the main british character with other characters and religions. Maybe that could have been written better. But overall, I'm actually somewhat content.
Edit: I just realised this was Book 4. I guess the sub plot thingy might have built up from Books 1-3.”
