“Though it is more of a "bathroom style" book, I read it straight through like a novel. There was a lot of repetition, but because the things repeated by Fred Rogers in his responses to each letter were all good and true things, I didn't let myself speed through. I figure the repetition of his mannerisms would do me good! I cried some and laughed some, and as always, I love the legacy of Fred Rogers!”
“Literally a book full of snippets of letters sent to Mr Rogers as well as snippets of his responses and even just him talking to us about his thoughts on questions asked. I watched Mr. Rogers as a child and when my girls were little we tried to watch it but couldn’t really find it on tv. Then when they were 6 they started watching Daniel Tiger. Anyway, I really enjoyed this. And, in reading his responses and thoughts I felt as if I were hearing his voice. I truly wish I had found this book when my girls were toddlers. His words and advice would have helped me tremendously. That said, although my girls are teenagers now I feel as though his words have helped me even now. Even if you are not looking for advice I think this is a great pallet cleanser of sorts. It makes you smile.”

About Fred Rogers

Fred Rogers (1928–2003) was a producer, writer, magician, puppeteer, minister, husband, and father who began working in children’s television in the 1950s and created the PBS program Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood. He pioneered “programming that spoke, with respect, to the concerns of early childhood, not as adults see it but as children feel it.” For his work, he received the Presidential Medal of Freedom, a Peabody Award, and numerous other honors. The Television Hall of Fame inducted him in 1999, and the Smithsonian Institution displays one of his sweaters as a “treasure of American history.” He founded Family Communications, Inc., now Fred Rogers Productions, a not-for-profit company that continues to develop programming, special projects, and materials that help children learn and grow, including Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood.
