ByPublisher Description
A chilling tale about life flashing before your eyes—including terrifying scenes you don’t remember.A chilling tale about life flashing before your eyes—including terrifying scenes you don’t remember.
When Damon survives a near-drowning, his life flashes before his eyes. Every memory is crystal clear—except one. A dead boy. A face he can’t place. A moment he doesn’t remember living. At first he tells himself it’s a trick of the mind. But everything else he saw was real. So why not this?
With his waking life stalked by the disturbing scene, confusion quickly turns to obsession. Desperate for answers, Damon digs into his fractured past, and becomes convinced that the only way to remember…is to die again. And again. And again. When he meets a perfect stranger who’s all too willing to help, the stage is set for his dice with death.
But if this is what it takes to uncover the truth, maybe some memories are better left buried…

“INSANELY UNIQUE & PHENOMENALLY CRAZY!! 😱🤯😳
John Marrs has done it again! The concept of dying over and over again to recover the memories you’ve lost is something I’ve never ever read before, so every page felt so unique and interesting. I’m sick and tired of reading cliche tropes in all domestic thrillers and this book proved me wrong! Damon is a very complex character and I neither love nor hate him. I keep thinking he has schizophrenia throughout the whole book even though there isn’t any diagnosis of that but his hallucinations of seeing and hearing people match schizophrenia perfectly.
The twists in this book are beyond imaginable because I thought I’d guessed it but I didn’t guess all of them. When Damon discovered that his Dad went to prison for murder, I immediately didn’t believe that. I keep having this feeling that his dad did this to protect his son and Damon is actually the real serial killer, and I was right! When I guess the whodunit twists in other thrillers, I feel disappointed and that the book was too predictable. But in this book, I was more invested after guessing that twist correctly. There are 8 jaw dropping twists in total, so it made this story even more twisty than it already is.
Laura came back from The Good Samaritan and she is perfect for her role in this book! I don’t think any other character in any of John Marrs’ books are better that Laura in this story because suicide is the main topic in here and she played a big role from start to end.
Also, I hate reading in 3rd person because of how disconnected I feel to the character, but I absolutely loved this one even when half of the book was written in 3rd person from 4 different POVs. It’s amazing how John Marrs can prove me wrong so many times with so many different things. I highly recommend this if you’re looking for an insanely unique, twisty, and comprehensive thriller!”
