Q: Do I have to buy the ebook to participate in a book club?

No, you don’t have to buy the ebook to participate, but we do recommend it to get the most out of your club. There are several premium social reading features that are only available when you buy the ebook, like annotations, reactions, comment threads, resources, discussion prompts, and more, all embedded right in the text. It’s a unique and immersive way to read.

Q: Why can’t I buy the ebook on the app?

“ESP Para un reto literario (Retópata) debía elegir la obra de un autor que en algún momento hubiera estado encarcelado; además, al ser una obra de época victoriana, la he incluido en la iniciativa #victober de este mes. En un primer momento me habia decidido por otra obra más extensa, pero al verme acuciada por la falta de tiempo busqué otra lectura más breve y aquí estamos. Del autor ya he leído varias obras con cierto interés y gusto, así que este breve poema, escrito justamente con temática carcelaria tras su presidio, no podía ser más oportuna. En esta edición ilustrada, a pesar de la pérdida del ritmo de la métrica por la traduccion, he podido apreciar el gran sufrimiento y angustia que debió suponerle su experiencia carcelaria, gracias a su gran talento literario que, desgraciadamente, no le salvó de su declive personal tras su salida de prisión. ENG For a reading challenge (Retopata #11) I’ve to choose the work of an author who was someday incarcerated; in addition to that being a Victorian time work, I’ve included it in the #victober initiative of this month. In a first moment I choosed another larger book, but being stressed for the lack of time I’ve searched another reading, lighter than the previous one and here we are. From this author I’ve already read several works with some interest and pleasure, so this short poem, written with prison topic after his imprisonment precisely, it couldn’t be more appropriate. In this illustrated edition, despite of the loss of meter rhythm for the translation, I could appreciate the big suffering and angst that his jail experience should mean to him, thanks to his great literary talent that, unfortunately, it didn’t save him from his personal decline after leaving the prison.”
