Publisher Description

Set in the fan favorite Amish village of Harvest, Ohio, the latest novel in the USA Today bestselling author’s Amish Matchmaker series features the unlikely sleuthing duo of an Amish widow and her zany, oft-divorced English best friend. Will appeal to fans of cozy mysteries, small-town mysteries, wholesome romance, inspirational fiction, and readers of Jennifer Beckstrand, Charlotte Hubbard, Rachel J. Good, and other authors of Amish fiction.

It's August in Holmes County, and that means it's time for the Holmes County Fair. It's the county’s biggest annual event, drawing tourists and locals alike to see livestock, eat too much fried food, and watch the rodeo and speed racing contests. This year, Millie has entered the quilting competition—while her very not Amish best friend, Lois Henry, is distracted by her new dating app and her search for husband number five. In a place where quilting is a way of life, the competition is fierce—especially this year, when an anonymous donor doubles the winning cash prize. Amish and English women are up against each other, and some will do anything to win—even murder . . .

When someone attacks the quilt barn by slashing the quilt display, it’s unsettling enough. But when a quilting judge is found murdered, Millie knows it’s time to for Lois to get off her app and help her hunt for a killer instead—before the competition is wiped out for good . . .

Rolling on the Floor Laughing Face“I really liked this book. The characters were very likeable even loveable. The two leads had great chemistry and gave me tons of laughs. Millie is an amish "match-maker" and sometimes her insights seem a little heavy handed otherwise she is just the sweetest old lady. Lois, her english friend, is very eccentric but not to an annoying degree. She is one of my favorite characters in the book; she always gets a laugh out of me. The rest of the supporting characters held their weight too especially Uriah whom I thought was the most thoughtful guy, truly a role-model. The animals played a big part in the book and all of them were cute even without me seeing them. Just such loveable characters and animals making for a great cozy. The setting felt very much like the midwest and a small hometown vibe. I personally felt it seemed a lot like a place I had seen amish people before: Seymour, Missouri. This connection really rooted it for me and made me really love the setting. Some of the plot details surrounding a young boy named Zach were kind of dark which was interesting for a cozy mystery. I didn't expect it, but that was okay. It brought out good qualities of the other characters and enhanced the story. Overall the book was just an absolute joy to read filled with many twists and turns. The only bad comments I have are how the ending felt a bit rushed as the ends get tied up really quickly at the end, and the ones below. *SPOILERS PAST HERE* The one problem I had was I don't recall how Ruth quilt made it into the quilt barn after she left it in her buggy. If anyone knows I would love an explanation. Otherwise I did not suspect Sal at all and feel it was guess work to get there without the crucial piece of information at the end of chapter 34. I didn't like how he was the killer because I liked him as this Paul Blart Mall Cop security guard. That's fine though, it happens. My original theory was Hezekiah since the quilt shop had been burnt down by kerosene. I thought he was hired to do it by Tara and or Tyce and then wanted revenge when the police suspected arson, of course along with the other problem he had with Tara. I also don't remember his favor being stated either; that is minor though. Of course all of that was thrown out at the end, but that's okay!”
