“TJR’s books always feel like a warm hug. You can identify with almost all of these characters in some way. I will say at first I was skeptical about the format of the book, but honestly it made it easy to breeze through. The “interview/documentary” writing style she uses about things these characters experienced about 40 years prior (most of which were under the influence of something or other) gives us some competing reflections about what actually happened at the time. While you can call that unreliable narration, I think it’s the truth that our recollection of certain memories differ from person to person. Who knows what actually happened? Could also not be more obsessed with the late 70s LA rock and roll scene. You can tell Fleetwood Mac was an inspiration for the events in this novel. Love love love it.”
