“Staceyann Chin's "Crossfire" is a poetic masterpiece that demands to be read by anyone seeking a deeper understanding of feminism and womanism from diverse perspectives. As a white woman, I believe I have a responsibility to expand my knowledge in these areas, I found her work to be profoundly enlightening, thought-provoking, and not easy.
Chin fearlessly explores the intricate intersections of race, gender, sexuality, and identity, challenging the notion that feminism/womanism is a one-size-fits-all concept. She challenges confrontation with bias and calls to recognize the complexities of women's experiences, but her passionate words leave a lasting impression and make her work accessible and relatable. Powerful.
Chin has an unwavering commitment to empowering voices often marginalized within feminist movements. Her poems encourage inclusivity, ensuring that all voices, regardless of their backgrounds, are acknowledged and valued. One of the most compelling aspects of her collection is her commentary on the #MeToo movement. This read like a gut punch. I was captivated and called to attention.
Chin sheds light on the disparities in how #MeToo has been received, based on race, prompting readers to recognize and address these disparities within feminist activism
"Crossfire" is an invaluable resource. The poetry demands reflection, encourages critical thinking, and provides insights that can help expand our understanding of the complex and multifaceted issues women face.
"Crossfire" is a must-read for anyone looking to deepen their understanding of feminism, womanism, and the need for inclusivity. Chin's poetry challenges us to be better, to be more aware, and to actively engage with these critical topics.”

“Propulsive, rhythmic poems that pack a punch and don't hold back. Unabashedly angry and filled with feminist rage. Some of the content could get overwhelming at times but that's just my opinion. It probably works for some people.
