Cowboy Proud
ByPublisher Description
This cowboy is rugged, proud…and incredibly sexy
Cade Covington is struggling with turning his family's beloved ranch into a tourist attraction. It's not just the mortgage big enough to choke a horse, or the invasion of his home by strangers. It's also the arrival of a city slicker PR professional who doesn't understand ranch life…and puts every beautiful woman he's ever seen to shame. Cade wants her.
With her company on the line, Emma can't afford any mistakes. Especially if that mistake is a broad-shouldered, blue-eyed cowboy who drives her crazy with hunger. But all it takes is one small wager and their chemistry explodes. When the dust settles, will Emma have obliterated her career…or captured her cowboy?

“Gift from my sister who gave me a good romance novel and a trashy one to go with it for Christmas. I’ll let you decide which this book was.”
“My thoughts:
For those who follow my reviews it should not be a surprise that I was waiting to read Cade’s story. I was a fan of Cade since the first book “A Cowboy Returns” .
He seemed like the tough guy, but once you get to him and learn more about him, he really is just a sweet guy who went through some rough times.
This book starts out a few months after the last book, by the way you don’t need to have read the first book in order to read this one. It makes a good standalone book.
All three brothers, plus Reagan live and work at the ranch. There is still some tension between Cade and Eli that needs be worked out, some stuff is holding a gap between the two brothers yet that they need to get out of the way.
All of that and they are on a tight deadline to get the dude ranch open to the public, something that Case is not really comfortable with anyways.

One-Sentence Summary: A country boy and a city girl jump each other's bones within hours of meeting
Review: It's been a long time since I read a cowboy romance and I was looking forward to this, especially since I enjoyed the first book in the series.
Unfortunately it failed to live up to my expectations. This book committed the cardinal sin of having two characters have sex within hours of meeting each other. Maybe in a life/death romantic suspense novel I would begrudgingly be able to accept this but Cade and Emma are two strangers in a car - and then they end up having sex against the car in the pouring rain. Pretty hot? Yes. But the start of an epic romance that has Cade considering marriage a few days after meeting her? No, no, no.
I also felt that the whole Michael deal was a bit hurried and hard to get my head wrapped around what was going on there.
Then there were the little details like the fact that the author makes a point of telling us that when Emma goes to have a shower she locks both doors leading into the bathroom, but the next minute Cade is knocking on the door and entering the room once she is in the shower.
Ty's story intrigues me though so I will still be tuning in to see how that plays out.

“Cade, middle brother of three boys had it the hardest. His father took his anger, fear and his broken heart out on him after his wife died. His older brother ran off leaving him and younger brother Ty alone. To protect his brother and try to hold their ranch together Cade did it all, always trying to be the man his father never found him good enough to be. He grows thrives and yet holds onto the resentments of the past. When a difficult young woman walks into his life, he must face the demons of his past.
Emma is a young professional woman with absent parent issues. She is driven to become accomplished, successful and prove to her now passed parents that she can be the daughter they could love. Her company is under severe financial distress and it might be from within. She takes a job at a ranch in a last desperate attempt to save her sinking ship. What she gets is a lot more complicated than she ever thought she'd have to deal with.
Sweet Cade is a hot romantic broken cowboy and Emma is a beautiful lonely woman waiting to be loved, together they stir the skies and bring down the rain. Sexy, humorous and heartwarming with a HEA you don't want to miss. It was a perfect quick read next to a roaring fire with my hot chocolate.”
