Conviction

By Melinda Di Lorenzo
Conviction by Melinda Di Lorenzo digital book - Fable

Publisher Description

Ten years ago, Flip Farriday was nothing more than a smalltown patrolman. Then came his big break. A shocking crime. A teenage culprit. And Flip is the one who put the guilty young man behind bars, catapulting himself to the role of captain.

Ten months ago, Veronica Hollister's father—a former preacher—sent her on a mission to Meridian Penitentiary. She was meant to learn a lesson. And maybe to teach one, too. But now, she's face-to-face with a living nightmare.

Ten hours ago, confessed killer, Ellis Black, broke out of prison with a pretty little hostage in tow. He's got a plan. A dark and vengeful goal. And there's nothing—nothing at all—he won't do to to achieve it.

The policeman.
The preacher's daughter.
The convict.

Good doesn't always triumph. Evil can be more than what it seems. And a few souls can't ever be redeemed... But sometimes, in a complex world, the question is simple. Who will come out on top?

Conviction Reviews

“This book was a great read. While on the longer side and having multiple povs it still was well written. The characters were great and I didn’t see the twists coming. For me, the beginning didn’t grab me like I wanted so it was a tad difficult to get through that first part. It did end up picking up and by the end I didn’t want to put it down. I just had to know what happened.”
“I received this book as an ARC, once I got a handle on the characters and the before/after arrest this book kept me interested and had a twist I didn’t suspect. I would love a second book on the two main characters Ellis and Nic!”
“This book started slow for me with all the back and forth of before the crime and present time. Once I got the characters and timeline straight I was hooked. I needed to know what happened next and how the crime happened 10 years ago. I found myself staying up late to get one more chapter in and getting to the laundry in a little bit so I could read some more. I found myself saying WTH in the book when I thought I had it figured out and then there was a plot twist and I NEVER saw that last plot twist coming. I did feel like the ending was a bit rushed. The whole book you were given all kinds of details about everything and then the ending was just thrown together very quickly I felt. All in all I would definitely recommend this book to a friend!”
