“I just loved this book! I mean it starts with a hot cowboy riding through the woods then he hears a baby crying. What could be better than that? Mia is a widowed single mother who has the step mother from hell. She is forced to run with her baby. While she is wealthy she is afraid to go home to her father or access any of her money. She ends up hiding on the Colton Ranch.
Jarvis is Bella & Spencer's brother. He is the final triplet to get a story and his is a good one. He is working an a ranch hand so that he can secretly dig around the property looking for proof that his branch of the family was swindled. He comes across Mia and her baby and decides to help them.
I love Mia and Jarvis together. He goes to such lengths to help her and her baby. I also love the search he is on and the fact that he doesn't really care about the money. He just wants to prove it it one way or another.
For those who are wondering, Payne is still in a coma. This poor man, I mean he made me so mad but I'm kind of feeling sorry for him at this point. I certainly feel for his wife. Mia Graves is the daughter of a prominent Mustang Valley Businessman as well as a model. She brought her infant back to Mustang Valley to raise after a divorce from her husband. Mia had no idea she was playing right into the hands of a crazy mad woman.
Jarvis Colton is a rancher working on his a member of his distant families land. Jarvis is looking for information on a family secret and is wanting to get to the bottom of it.
Jarvis encounters Mia and her baby on the land and decides he will protect them as he wishes someone would do for his own sister.
This book kept me enthralled and entertained. I already knew who the enemy was so to me that did take just a bit from the suspense part of the book.”
“Jarvis is from a branch of the Colton family which did not have all the advantages of the main family line. Now working for his unknowing cousins, Jarvis is determined to find the documents that prove his family was ousted from their land.
Out riding the ranges he finds Mia hiding out with her baby son. She may clearly be at wits end, but she a is a true mama bear and will kill anyone who tries to harm her son. Reluctantly relying on this strangers help, she allows him to give her sanctuary in an off-grid cabin whilst she tries to come up with a plan to evict her evil step-mother from her family. Not easy when her father has essentially absented himself from her life and said wicked witch has threatened her BABY!
Oh I do love a baddie you can just unabashedly hate. Regina is the queen of wicked step-mothers! Mia is a great heroine, strong and feisty with a tiny touch of naivety. But don't let that fool you, she is more than capable of looking after herself and her baby, she just needs a little assistance. Jarvis may not think he wants a family but he may just have had a ready made one drop into his lap!
Great characters, enticing storyline and great chemistry between the leads!”
