Loudly Crying Face“oh i am absolutely DEVASTATED. There was so much lore in this book that relates back to The Mortal Instruments and now it all makes SO MUCH SENSE. The Herondale’s got their star shaped scar from Tessa’s Clockwork Angel leaving a mark on Will. The London institute survived Sebastian’s attack on the Institutes because Jessamine’s purpose in her afterlife is to guard it. It likely would’ve fallen if it weren’t for her. Emma Carstair’s dagger was mentioned because Jem’s uncle Elias wanted to give it to Will, but Tessa told him to save it for his own children. Tessa’s clockwork angel was Ithuriel. The same angel that Valentine tortured and used to experiment on. Isabelle’s necklace was originally Camille’s which was given to Magnus, who gave it to Will, who gave it to Cecily, who I’m assuming passed it down to her and Gabriel’s children. I love that everyone was coupled up in this boom and ended up with a happy ending Tessa & Will Tessa & Jem Charlotte & Henry Sophie & Gideon Cecily & Gabriel I LOVE THEM ALL The only thing I wish was different about this book was that we got more scenes of married Will and Tessa. The entire book was about them trying to be together and giving up their own happiness because Jem was dying. It just seemed like a lot to end up together and then barely getting any scenes of them ACTUALLY together. And when Will rode on horseback for like 3-5 business days to save Tessa only for them to pass each other like 6 times along the way😭😭 This book was definitely my favorite of the infernal devices because we find so many things out about Tessa and what she truly is. She is an Eldest Curse (father unknown), but she is also the only known living Warlock/ Shadowhunter. I wonder if she’ll make an appearance in the other books. It was so fun to see her and Jem in the same timeframe as Mortal Instruments when Tessa finds out that he was able to be freed of the Silent Brother runes (thank you Jace Herondale) I also find it extremely sad that after Will died Tessa left her whole family because she didn’t want to watch her children and grand children grow old and die. Which is completely understandable, just absolutely DEVASTATING. But now she’s also going to have to watch Jem grow old and die. When I tell you I am actually unwell after this book I mean it. Magnus was so right when he told Tessa that not a lot of people find their one true love, but Tessa was lucky enough to find two. And she was so lucky that those two were Will and Jem, who loved each other deeper than brothers and were willing to do anything for each other. Their parabatai bond might have been broken when Jem “died”, but a bond as strong as they had would never have truly left them. I can’t wait to keep reading this series, but I don’t think my heart can take it😭😭”
