Clive Cussler The Heist
ByPublisher Description
Detective Isaac Bell faces an attack on the Federal Reserve in this all-new adventure in the #1 New York Times bestselling series from Clive Cussler.
1914: As America’s century of dominance dawns, the country’s greatest detective, Van Dorn agent Isaac Bell, is pitted against a master thief and his assassin accomplice. They’re plotting to pull off the greatest heist in America’s history: the theft of a billion dollars from the newly created Federal Reserve.
When an aerial attack is launched against Woodrow Wilson’s yacht during a meeting among the Federal Reserve’s branch leaders, Bell thwarts it, only to find that the strike was just the opening of an even deadlier gambit. It’s up to Bell to find the link between the attack, the mysterious death of a Newport heiress, and growing evidence of an unimaginably audacious heist.
Double-cross and betrayal are Bell’s stock and trade, but this time, the deeper he delves into the puzzle, the less he seems to understand. He is in a race against his most ruthless opponent yet, to prevent a financial panic that would bring the United States to its knees.

“This is another very summer-trashy-thriller Isaac Bell novel. These are fun, action-packed and period appropriate. This time, Isaac and Archie have the solving of a huge heist from the Federal Reserve that literally doesn't really exist yet! These are sort of really American. S'okay though, they're fun.
That extra half star.
- Christoff Tamerlane, for the makeup job, the cricket bat and painting that perfect backdrop for the alleyway hideout attack.
- the meticulous theft plot that keeps you going 'wait... It's not here either??? What the hell? '
- Michaleen Riordan for being an unrepentant 'it's just business' tiny leprechaun psychopath. He is ice cold and absolutely evil and he carries it well, with no remorse, so you can just hate him
- Louisiana Bayou - Greek fire shotgun shell - airboat chase scene.
- Archie Abbott, just because he's there.”

“Thank god this is over. I think part of me hated this so much cause I just wanna read more Darrow, but I tried to space it out after the first three. It felt like a shittier plot than a Mission Impossible movie, with vaguely described action scenes and the detective would have an “ah-ha” moment like a cartoon that was not really possible to conclude. The only thing that kept me reading was to finish it to read the Reaper of MF Mars, which now floods my FYP”

“A great book with many twists that kept the criminal one step ahead of the detectives until the final chapter when a crescendo ending provides a satisfying conclusion.”
