Publisher Description

To look at someone and to truly see them were entirely different.

Summer 1814: Moody fae Sage Ravenwing is on his way to the country estate of Wyndham and Roger Wrenwhistle — and very confused as to why he was even invited.

Still pining after Wyndham and nursing a grudge against Roger, Sage reluctantly joins the raucous house party, which soon adds a mysterious guest to their number.

Conrad Moore has come a long way from the docks of Bristol. Armed with a humble education, middling magical skill, and a great deal of audacity, he journeys to the Wrenwhistle estate to inquire about the open position on the Council.

Thrown together in the only remaining available room, the surly fae and cheerful human establish a tentative acquaintanceship. As they learn surprising lessons from each other — riding, swimming, and mending a broken heart — a tender friendship blooms and an explosive magical connection forms.

But just as Sage starts to yearn for a new future with Conrad, he discovers that the hardest lesson of all will lie in atoning for his mistakes and scrubbing his messy past clean.

Cleaning Spells Before Courtship Reviews

“The final book in the F&HR series, and what a nice bow on the series! While it was probably my least favorite story of the four (but still a lovely story and read), I did appreciate the love story between Sage and Conrad. Sage’s redemption arc was well deserved and well explored, and Conrad suited him swimmingly! I feel that if I were to return to this series, I would appreciate earlier details more greatly because of this final installment and the way it wrapped things up for all of the previous MCs!! What a lovely world that was created by the authors!”
“Dearest Gentle Reader, At last, we arrive at the final installment, and what a triumphant conclusion it proved to be. It was everything I had hoped for, and perhaps even a touch more. 🥺🥰 This tale is, at its heart, about learning from one’s mistakes and offering sincere apologies where they are due. It explores love not as obligation or performance, but as appreciation for who one truly i, not merely what one can provide. And that, dear reader, is a lesson worth celebrating. 🎀😭 The class tensions felt more grounded and believable this time. Though the ending resolved itself a shade too neatly for my particular tastes, I have elected, most graciously, to accept the victory and move along. 🤧✨ There were countless romantic moments, not designed for scandal, but for the heart. Tender, affirming, and deeply satisfying. The joy of the friendship group, their shared happiness and camaraderie, delighted me just as much. And of course, a final sprinkling of magic ensured the story never lost its sparkle. 💖 I am pleased to say this series concludes on a high note. Should I ever feel the need to revisit this world, it is this volume I shall reach for first. 🫶 Yours, most contentedly, Lady Katherine ✨”
“HOW SWEET!!! I love these books so so so much! Bummed this was the last one, but I think it was a beautiful conclusion!”
“✨ "I believe I am a rather tedious person," he admitted. "Difficult. I have a propensity for moping." Sage closed his eyes. He had long since accepted these things to be true. It was all he'd ever been told. "Sage." His name was Conrad's exhale. "You are wonderful." ✨ I really, really enjoyed this last book in the Fae & Human Relations series. Conrad and Sage have captured my heart, and they are just so lovely together. The buildup of their relationship through friendship and trust was beautiful to witness. I'm very sad to finish this series, but it was an incredible journey and I'm so glad to have found it!”
