Arthur B. Reeve
Arthur B. Reeve (1880–1936) was born on Long Island, New York, and attended Princeton University and New York Law School. As an editor and journalist, he covered many famous criminal cases, including Bruno Hauptmann’s trial for the abduction and murder of the Lindbergh baby. Reeve is best remembered as the creator of Professor Craig Kennedy, a scientific detective who first appeared in the pages of
magazine. Kennedy was such a popular character in the early twentieth century that he became known as the “American Sherlock Holmes.”
